CTG Tax Conference 2016

The Annual Tax Conference saw a large number of charities and tax advisers come together to discuss some of the key tax issues currently facing the charity sector. Expert speakers from HM Treasury, HMRC, charities and professional advisory firms joined panel discussions on topics including the Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme, the EU’s VAT Action Plan, the Common Reporting Standard and the Apprenticeship Levy.

The Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, Damian Hinds MP, gave the keynote speech – highlighting some of the successes on charity tax over the last year, as well as looking forward to plans for the year ahead.

He has since stated in a letter to CTG “It was a pleasure to speak at your conference and to hear your members’ view on charity tax policy and the wider experiences of the UK tax system. It is always useful for me, and for my officials, be be able to hear directly from representatives of a wide range of charities.”

The conference presentation slides are now available, as is CTG’s Annual Review 2015-16, which was also launched at the Conference.
