HMRC has picked up a new, worrying tax phishing scam that is targeting people’s Government Gateway log-in details.

Rather than offering the usual ‘tax refund’, these scams ask the recipient to click a link to ‘update their records’ which are ‘out of date’. One version refers to your ‘Self-Assessment Online profile’.
