Quantifying the impact of COVID-19 on Gift Aid claims
The Charity Tax Group is supporting the sector led campaign for a temporary increase in the value of Gift Aid to assist charities during the COVID-19 pandemic and to incentivise donations for supporters. Please do add your support
Falls in the value of donation income since the start of the pandemic have been well documented, but we are keen to gain a better insight into the material cost of lost Gift Aid during this period.
We would be very grateful if you could complete the table below to document the difference in Gift Aid claimed April to December 2020 compared to the previous year(NB they need not be exact figures and you could just provide a % difference if preferred).
Where possible, it would be useful to know what percentage of the data provided relates to donations received in the period (as we appreciate many charities have been rightly dedicating resources to Gift Aid claims on older donations to help raise important income during the pandemic).
Please also let us know if you are happy for any data to be attributed to your charity – otherwise it will be kept anonymous. Please provide the following information in the comment box below.
