Charity Tax Group Members Meeting and AGM (24 March 2021): A thank you to John Hemming and our vision for the future
The Charities’ VAT Reform Group was created in 1982 to help charities challenge increasing VAT bills. Almost forty years on, the renamed Charity Tax Group (CTG) continues to represent charities on all charity tax issues and lobby for a fairer and simpler tax system for the sector. During that time we have secured valuable tax reliefs and concessions and ensured that the voice of charities is heard by policy makers.
The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated both the importance of tax reliefs for cashflow and the need to maximise the financial support available to charities. CTG has played an active role, negotiating with Government on behalf of charities and providing resources for charities through its website and newsletters.
The role of CTG in the current financial climate is as important as it has ever been and we want to share our vision for 2021 and beyond. This includes our plans to focus on practical tax changes that save your charity time and money. We will major on the use of virtual meetings to extend our engagement with charities and advisers across the UK.
Please join us on 24 March (16.00-17.00) to find out about our plans, join the conversation about the future direction of CTG and learn how you can be part of that journey – you can register by completing the form below
The event will also include our virtual AGM at which the the Directors will provide a brief overview of recent activity, a financial update and confirmation of the appointment of Directors. This includes the election of Richard Bray as new CTG Chair and the re-election of Kevin Russell and Monica Varriale as Directors, following a recent nomination process.
At the end of the meeting, please join the CTG board in paying tribute to John Hemming, who is standing down from CTG after ten successful years as Chairman. We are very grateful to John for his extensive contributions, which leave CTG well placed to tackle the challenges ahead. To send a short message to John, to thank him for his contributions please contact info@charitytaxgroup.org.uk, today if possible.
