In light of the recent fire at Glasgow University of Arts Mr Paul Sweeney MP (Lab Co-op, Glasgow North East) has asked a parliamentary question on restoring VAT relief on renovations of listed buildings.

The Minister for Civil Society Tracey Crouch made assurances that although tax is a matter for the Treasury “we are always looking at ways to protect and conserve our historic and heritage buildings; they are crucially important to all of us and we will always look to do that.”
