DCLG has published statistics on national non-domestic rates collected by local authorities in England 2015-16.

Total relief provided to charitable occupations (that is both mandatory and discretionary relief) amounted to £1.6 billion in respect of 2015-16, an increase of £82 million or 5.4% on 2014-15. These reliefs account for 45% of the total relief granted. The increase relates only to mandatory rate relief, with no change in respect of discretionary rate relief.
